Animal Scale Does Wonders For Your Self-Esteem

AnimalScale

Probably the best thing you can do for your fat friend is get them this Animal Scale.  Especially during the holiday season when over eating is easily overlooked, at least there’s no numbers displayed on this scale. It seems kind of drastic to me as you are either a duck or a pig?  No cute small dog in between there?  Either way it’s an expensive gag gift.  On sale now for $42.

Neato Robotics’ XV11 Surpasses Roomba Easily

neato robotics XV11

All right, everybody, got a new and interesting gadget for you today, so brace yourselves–the logical successor to the Roomba has reared its suctiony head, and it’s called the XV11 from Neato Robotics. Okay, with a name like that, admittedly this sounds like it’d be a real credibility strainer.  Thing sounds like a droid from Star Wars produced by a company that should’ve been featured in Fallout 3.  But anyway, Neato took technology gained through the various automated driving competitions that DARPA’s been engaging in for years now and added them to the XV11.  It uses a combination of lasers and Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM) technology to first make a map of the room, complete with obstruction data. Then, once it has this map, it follows the map.  Where the Roomba has to bump into things to figure out where obstructions are, the XV11 will figure out where they are BEFORE setting out. They’ll demo at the Consumer Electronics Show this January, and should hit stores late February for a cost of $399 a unit.

aqua jar

I love the absolutely simple but brilliant products.  Such is the case of the Aqua Jar.  It attaches to the universal screw top of any water bottle and instantly turns it into a pitcher.  It’s made from biodegradable and recyclable plastic and comes in orange, graphite and frost.  I’m not sure where you can purchase one but sign me up.  Looks like a good holiday gift as well.

Even though winter isn’t generally known for sun, a beefy array of Christmas lights will always run up your electricity bill.  These solar powered lights might be a great alternative for those on a budget but not willing to cut out the holiday cheer.  However, the cost of this expensive item may really  outweigh the potential savings on your electric bill.  On sale now for $65 per 102 light strand.

Conmoto Rolling FirePlace Lets Every Room Become A 9-Alarm Fire

conmoto-ultra-modern-fireplaces-rolling

Combining the most primitive elements discovered at the dawn of mankind, this rolling fireplace from Conmoto wants to go off-roading down your stairs with a passion. From the look of the picture it seems pretty fake but it actually runs off of ethanol and is a real heat source believe it or not. Imagining some awesome YouTube videos involving bowling and day care centers this fireplace isn’t designed to roll at all.  What are we supposed think?  Anyway, cool concept and I’d love to mess with one.

Talk about sweet!  I never thought of fish being worthwhile pets but I’d maybe think differently if I saw them all domesticated in one of these designer tanks.  At a stupid ass price of $6,500,  I can only imagine the “trustafarian” who displays this in their loft. It also looks like this thing is a real bitch to keep clean as the compartments are all narrow and tight, with some even being far away.  I know my tune changed pretty quick on this product, but with a price tag like that I’m just stupefied.

DIY Laser Hair Removal And DIY Botox Markets Expanding

October 27th, 2009

I love DIY projects, lasers, and chemistry sets as much as the next gal, but the whole do-it-yourself laser hair removal and Botox market boom is terrifying. Untrained individuals shouldn’t be pointing needles and lasers at themselves.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is in an uproar about the things people are doing in their bathrooms. It’s not that those surgeons are just worried about losing money on procedures, they’re bound to gain clients from all the DIY messups anyway, but they appear genuinely concerned about regulations and safety. People order Botox from websites called Discount MedSpa and putting videos of their DIY injection on youtube (Warning: the clip may make you cringe).

We all like to look pretty, but there are safer ways to get rid of hair, folks! And somehow it’s better to have wrinkles than order Botox from a website that looks like it was made in Microsoft Word.
