Today, Casio trotted out what they’re calling the thinnest ruggedized digital camera, the EX-G1. And at .78-inches I might have to agree, although I didn’t really do any comparison, but it does sound thin for being shock-resistant, freezeproof, dustproof and waterproof. And as you’ve probably noticed the styling bites off of their G-Shock line of phones.

Spec wise were talking a 12.1 megapixel sensor, 848×480 movide mode, microSD card slot, 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD and Advanced Dynamic Photo function. There’s a bit more details on just how rugged the EX-G1 is after the ‘leap’.
You can expect the EX-G1 to arrive sometime December for $299.99 – it will also come in black.

The DualView TL225 digital camera has managed to garner fairly positive reviews. The camera does everything that it promises and offers incredibly sharp resolution pictures. The camera was best designed for point-and-shoot photography and many of the shooting options are geared for this type of photography. It’s a 12-megapixel camera with a 3.5-inch touch screen.

The DualView TL225 digital camera makes a great pocket camera and is perfect for people that like to be in their own photos. Because the camera has a dual-LCD design, people can easily see if they are capturing a good image of themselves.
The touch screen navigation on the camera has been one of its best features and is considered very responsive. There is a Smart Auto mode on the DualView TL225 digital camera that will automatically choose the most appropriate setting for each picture based on 11 scene types.
Although the camera has received some great reviews there are some downsides to the DualView TL225 digital camera. One downside is the battery. The charging of the battery must be done inside the camera, unless a person buys and extra charger. This means that users must take an extra battery with them if they plan to do quite a bit of shooting for the day.

Small, powerful and portable probably best describe the Olympus EP-2 PEN Camera, the follow up to the EP-1 which launched earlier this year.
For the most part the micro four thirds 12 megapixel DSLR remains the same as the first iteration, but this time around Olympus has added a few additional features such as an all black body and a detachable VF-2 Electronic View Finder that enhances dark scenes and allows you to view the camera’s viewfinder from a variety of angles. And despite the small upgrades, Olympus has seen fit to tack on an additional $300 to the price tag when it launches sometime in early December

The Vicon Revue camera is the genius work of OMG, an Oxford-based company that is famous for the technology that it uses in Hollywood films. Although the Vicon Revue camera is designed with Alzheimer’s disease sufferers in mind, it is a cool gadget overall. The company is teaming up with the neuroscience industry to make sure the device is available to individuals suffering from memory loss.

The Vicon Revue camera is a wearable camera that automatically takes digital photos throughout the day. This is especially helpful to individuals that suffer from memory loss. At the end of the day, the images can be viewed to reinforce a patient’s memory. The camera is intelligently built and automatically takes pictures based on certain stimuli, such as changes in temperature or light. For example, when an individual enters a new room, the camera will sense the difference in brightness and automatically take a picture.
The Vicon Revue camera is not heavy at all. The device is lighter and smaller than an iPod which makes wearing the camera an easy feat. The camera is on a roped cord. The camera itself is small and black. Individuals should expect to pay about $820 for the camera, and unfortunately, the camera will only be sold to researchers initially. It may be awhile before the average consumer is able to get their hands on the Vicon Revue camera.

Planes have a black box; unfortunately cars don’t come equipped with that type of device. Individuals who want to have a record of what goes on while they are on the road now have the option of recording it all with the Car Cam Voyager. The Car Cam Voyager is a video camera specifically designed for the car. The designers of the gadget thought it would be the perfect device just in case a person got into an accident or came across some important event that was worth recording.

The Car Cam Voyager records everything in real time while an individual is driving. The camera comes with a two inch LCD screen that displays all of the captured video as it happens. One benefit to the device is that the Car Cam Voyager allows a person to easily record video in their car without any installation.
The one downside the Car Cam Voyager is that it is limited on the amount of time that it will record. The camera only records up the 48 hours of video on the road. The camera has a 32GB microSD card that needs to be cleaned once a person has recorded their full 48 hours. To keep the camera fully operable and functioning, the camera can easily be plugged into a cigarette lighter socket.
The Car Cam Voyager is a bit pricy. It starts at $300, but can prove priceless if an individual gets into a situation where they need to have a clear record of what happened while they were driving. Although the Car Cam Voyager was designed for vehicles, it is absolutely possible to find other uses for the device. It can record anything, anywhere, and doesn’t have to be confined to a car.
