iSkin Solo FX Review

Finding an iPhone case that’s attractive and utilitarian isn’t always easy.  It is now.  The iSkin Solo FX is a totally swank iPhone case that will have onlookers gawking uncontrollably at what they think is an absolutely unknown phone.

It’s official: the Palm Pixi will hit Sprint on November 15th and cost $99.99 after a 2-year and $100 mail-in-rebate. That’s a pretty solid price considering it’s multitouch and includes a full QWERTY keyboard.

Gadget Rumor: Next Nintendo DSi To Receive Free Wireless 3G Connection

Nintendo DS WirelessIt looks like Nintendo is feeling the pressure from the iPhone.  So much so, that the company’s President, Satoru Iwata, is perhaps considering an Amazon Kindle like wireless model to deliver games to the portable gaming unit.
I’m interested because it’s a new business model in which the user doesn’t bear the communications cost.
Currently Nintendo DSi users can access the Nintendo store to download a variety of content via WiFi, but that requires that the user be within proximity of a signal and seriously hinders the purchase anytime, anywhere impulse.  Of course, this kind of delivery system would be implemented in the next generation of Nintendo DSes and would add some significant cost to the handheld device, something Nintendo may not be willing to do.

Among recent FCC filings is one for a Motorola Sholes aka Droid listing the bands used by AT&T (WCDMA 850/1900/2100) as well as GSM 850/900/1800/1900. This makes the phone compatible with both AT&T and Rogers.

MiFi iPhone App

For all you Verizon and Sprint MiFi users with an iPhone or iPod Touch, listen up.  There’s an app called Mi-Fi that lets you monitor your Mifi’s bandwidth, connected IPs, connection time and battery level.  I’m not sure how it jacks into this info, but I’m assuming it’s done over WiFi and doesn’t require any special tinkering.  I especially like that someone built an app for a product that isn’t available from AT&T, but rather their two competitors.
